Okay, so — first things first: Two Common Cents Club will not continue in its current form past the end of 2024. In fact, I’m probably going to shut this down and refund subscribers (thanks for your support!) earlier than that.
And you know what? I’m not even mad/sad. In fact, I’m excited.
Eight months in, uptake on this blog/newsletter has been a flat line. I’m not doing much promotion here outside of sharing the link when a new article comes out, so that’s not especially surprising. But I also don’t get very much engagement here, either. I get replies and comments on my personal newsletter, The Angelo Report, and that’s motivating.
Let me be clear: that’s not the fault of readers, obviously. It’s more likely that what I’m sharing here just isn’t that insightful and of interest to folks. That’s fine!
And in retrospect, I already have a place to write about running my business — my business blog/newsletter, which has been neglected… because I’ve been writing here instead. So that’s where writing like this will move.
Simplify, simplify, simplify.
As I’ve mentioned here and elsewhere, I’m working on a new kind of personal finance app, Cheqin (pardon the unstyled HTML, the site is still under construction).
And part of what I want to build around this app is a community. A club, you might say. Where folks can share their tips and opinions.
And so, Two Common Cents Club will be reborn, into that — a place for Cheqin users to connect and learn and share.
(What form that will take, exactly, is uncertain, but likely a forum.)
Posts here will be archived as part of the Dropped Bits newsletter, where I'll continue writing about stuff like this —probably once per month— along with product and general business updates.
I’m excited about this because I’m finding renewed focus. And if you have been finding the topics I discuss here interesting, feel free to follow the other newsletters I've linked (and remember, you can also add them to your RSS reader).
