Goodness gracious me, it's been a while. I last sent out an update in February, and then dropped into silence. Clearly, I am very good at EnGaGeMeNt mArKeTiNg.
A couple of things have happened since the last update.
I've been wanting to build a new app for a while now. Trouble is, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to build. My background is in accounting and engineering, so the natural fit was something to do with finance, and I started thinking about building something for entrepreneurs… before realizing that my real passion is to build something for everyone.
I think that just looking at budgets and trying to portion out your shiny beads into various piles doesn't go far enough in helping people get better with their money. I think there's something more that has to happen for people to truly make progress against their goals — and that's treating personal finance as a form of self-care.
So, I'm building Cheqin, and I'm aiming to launch it in late 2024 on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
I did a lot of writing —two articles a month— at 2CC Club before deciding that it actually didn't make a whole lot of sense. 2CC Club was a place where I could write about running a microbusiness, and Dropped Bits is… well, exactly that. A microbusiness. So why not just share any learnings and insights here, instead?
Why not indeed, Angelo?
So, I've shut down the site, and moved the content to this newsletter's archives. Trying to keep up with all the writing I do everywhere had me spending all my time writing instead of building, so I'll share "running the business"-type content here from now on.
Thanks again for your support, and I'll see you next month!
